The village of Trubarevo

“St. Gorgi Pobedonosec” (“St. George the Victorious”). The newly built church was consecrated in 1982. Since the Ottoman Empire there has been a cross at this very place where the locals would gather during the religious holiday St. George’s Day. The church was built upon the initiative of the local population for the purpose of making this holy place immortal, which has been a gathering for the worshippers for centuries. To build a church was a centuries-old desire of many generations – residents of the village. Ultimately, the church was built on the spot where, according to beliefs, the people of ancient times gathered in order to celebrate the religious holiday dedicated to St. George. The church has been restored and decorated with frescoes and icons. A bell tower and a fence around the church have recently been built.
